Senior Engineer - Infrastructure Works

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team to lead and contribute to infrastructure works for housing developments throughout Wales and the Southwest. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing innovative engineering solutions, ensuring high-quality project delivery, and collaborating with diverse teams across multiple developments. Responsibilities
- Project Leadership**: Plan, design, deliver, and oversee infrastructure works for housing developments, including roads, drainage systems, and utility networks.
- Technical Expertise**: Provide expert input in civil engineering processes, infrastructure design, and adherence to regulatory standards within Wales and the Southwest.
- Collaboration**: Work closely with architects, contractors, and local authorities to ensure each project reflects community needs, integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructure, and meets all safety and quality standards.
- Problem Solving**: Identify and resolve engineering challenges proactively, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Compliance**: Ensure all projects comply with current legislation, sustainable practices, and environmental considerations.
- Reporting**: Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and documentation to support project presentations and approvals.-Mentorship**: Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or the willingness to work towards achieving it.
- Proven experience in infrastructure works for housing developments, with a focus on design and construction.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civils 3D, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, planning approval processes, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in engineering projects.
- Valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel throughout Wales and the Southwest as required.
Day-to-Day
- Coordinate and lead project design meetings with stakeholders to define goals and progress.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.
- Review and approve technical designs, drawings, and calculations related to infrastructure systems.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and planning authorities to maintain strong professional relationships.
- Champion sustainable practices in all stages of infrastructure design and development for housing.
- Mentor and support junior engineers by reviewing their work, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging professional development.
- Respond to project-related inquiries or challenges promptly to avoid delays or disruptions.
