This mid sized developer has an enviable reputation for delivering high quality homes in the South West.  With a good pipeline of work they now seek the appointment of a Technical Manager/ Head of Technical to work from their Bristol office.

 

With a small technical team in place they seek the leadership of a hands-on technical manager who can work with external consultant and internal development teams.

 

The role is varied picking up a range of project at different stages, you will be supported by Technical Coordinators and a Civil Engineer.

 

To lead and build a motivated and engaged team

  •      Recruit the right talent into the business
  •     Develop your team members by enabling and motivating them to be the best that they can.

 

  • Ensure that up to date legislation and requirements are included on the drawings
  • Chase consultants to ensure availability of information to accord with deadlines
  • Attend site meetings as and when required
  • General liaison and co-ordination between other parties, both internal and external
  • Respond to site queries and resolve technical / construction problems, checking or delegating the checking of sales literature and production of sales

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of the construction/ development industry
  • Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation
  • Sound knowledge of the architectural and engineering function
  • To be self-motivated and well organised
  • Up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • IT skills including Microsoft packages (advanced knowledge)
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of planning issues, legislation and processes relevant to the job
  • Excellent leadership skills to inspire, motivate and develop team members to high levels of performance

Qualifications

  • Proficient understanding of construction processes, technical drawings, building regulations, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with tools and software relevant to architecture/engineering, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM systems.

Day-to-day

The Role
You will lead the complete design process on major residential developments, coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and working closely with project and development colleagues to ensure schemes are designed to programme, cost and quality targets. The Role
You will lead all aspects of project and commercial management across major developments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
