Due to an upcoming retirement, we have been instructed by our client to source a Sales Estimator 

This established Contractor supplies and installs steel frame buildings and cladding for both the agricultural, commercial and industrial markets also undertakes refurbishment of the steelwork and cladding on existing buildings

The role primarily involves taking enquiries in person, by phone or email, establishing client’s requirements, estimating the costs of detailing, materials, fabrication and labour, plant and safety equipment for installation through to final account and invoicing. Plus handling any variations as the clients invariably change their minds during the process.

The current incumbent takes in approximately 3 new orders a month ranging from £30k to £500k amounting to £6.0m turnover.

80% of the business is repeat work within our existing customer base, with the balance coming from following up recommendations and referrals.

This position will also involve working with the existing customer base but in addition whilst we have excess capacity we will be looking to bring new customers on board.  It will involve some travel to see the customers most of whom are within two hours of the  office but one is Suffolk and some others in the SE.

The position would be in based around the office near Tidworth although it is anticipated that the successful applicant will be able to work from home typically 2 days per week.

Ideally needs to be located within a 45-60 minute drive of the office – one of the key customers is in Hampshire who will require regular visits.

The current encumbant will provide training and, as mentioned above, we will want to increase business by having two sales estimators.

Salary will be according to experience and potential.

The remuneration package includes inclusion in the company’s profit share, private health and pension schemes and a company car.

We are putting in place a staff share scheme to encourage long term commitment from key staff.
