Commercial Manager
We are in search of forward-thinking Commercial Manager to join this award-winning and employee focussed - design and build retail and leisure fit-out business.
Key Areas:
Management of commercial function with report into the MD
- Production of take offs and estimates for tender enquiries
- Compilation of subcontract tender packs when bidding for new work
- Negotiation of contract sum values with both Clients and Suppliers
- Supporting the operational delivery team during the pre-construction stage of projects by producing profitability plans & procurement schedules
- Supporting the operational delivery team during the construction stage of projects by attending on-site valuations and producing and maintaining variation trackers
- Supporting the operational delivery team at the final account stage of projects with regards to Client and Supply Chain final submissions
- Building an understanding of contracts linked to the workstreams i.e. JCT/NEC, and applying these principles when awarding works to the Supply Chain
- Playing an active role in developing the supply chain and negotiating stronger terms upon project award
- Playing a key role in leading an evolving the commercial team
- Maintaining good relationships through effective stakeholder management with Clients, Consultants, Supply Chain and Colleagues
Experience. (Ideally)
- Knowledge of the JCT and NEC contracts
- Experience in managing a team
- Demonstrable experience working within the construction or fit out industries
- Confident with understanding and translating drawings and designs into take off’s and schedules of work
- Strong digital skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to manage over multiple projects at one time
