The primary role would be the procurement of materials for residential developments across the Southwest.

The developments are very high quality and often bespoke to the area they are built within.

Previous experience within the housing sector and experience using the COINS software system would be desirable.

The successful candidate should also have good skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

The role would entail the following:

• Taking off and scheduling materials from drawings and specifications.
• Sending supplier tender enquiries and analysing them on receipt.
• Negotiating prices with suppliers.
• Creating purchase orders using the COINS system.
• Manage and update the materials price database.
• Assisting sites with day-to-day plant and materials requirements.
• Dealing with site or supplier delivery/invoice queries.
• Check and authorise supplier invoices.
• Develop supplier relationships.

Technical Coordinator

Salary - £55,000 - £62,000 + Package

Due to progression in the Residential market we have been instructed to source a Technical coordinator to join a growing Developer. With a strong bank balance, this developer is heavily into specialised Partnership schemes either on Land or independant Investors.

The technical coordinator will assist in the delivery of three schemes and play a pivotal role in the business moving forward.

Requirements

• Assisting with reviewing of consultant's detail design drawings and subcontractor designs

The role will see you take overall control of a major section of the project c£7-8M either internal build or external new build apartments and be responsible for the overall management of this on a day-to-day basis. You will be supported by a hands-on Project Director and a Finishing Manager working in a Team of 3 Senior Site Managers.

The candidate for this role must have relevant experience in a similar position with a recognised housing developer.

They should have a detailed understanding of Highway and Water industry standards.

Be capable managing and monitoring the S104/S185/S278 & S38 application process to ensure that the agreements are in place to meet programme.

Have working knowledge of the processes for making utilities enquires, capacity requirements etc to ensure that utilities diversions and services are procured to meet project programmes.

Responsibilities include: 

• To undertake the day-to-day management of construction activities in order to maximise the company’s profitability and client satisfaction whilst ensuring programme, Health and Safety and Quality Control are upheld to the highest of standards at all times. 

• Assist the Contracts Manager/ Project Manager with pre-start details and attend pre-start meetings with the client as necessary to ensure smooth site set up and full knowledge of the project to manage it through to completion. 

• To issue monthly site progress reports to the Contracts Manager and client to monitor progress against the programme schedule. 

• Ensuring all site attendees (direct employees and subcontractors) work in line with Health & Safety procedures / initiatives 

Essential Skills
